In keeping with Conejo Valley Days' western spirit, a country-western theme store window decorating contest will be held to coincide with the Conejo Valley Days Parade and five-day festival. All stores along Thousand Oaks Boulevard are eligible to enter.

Conejo Valley Days is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

"In the old days, businesses throughout the Conejo Valley celebrated Conejo Valley Days by

decorating their store windows and having employees dress in western outfits," said Marty Campbell, Conejo Valley Days offsite chairperson. "We want to bring back the tradition, especially for our 50th anniversary year."

Stores must keep their decorations up from at least April 23 through May 7. Judging by the CVD grand marshals and city officials will take place Sat. and Sun., April 29 and 30.

The winning store will select an employee to ride in the Conejo Valley Days Parade on Sat., May 6.

The store will also receive 10 five-day passes to the festival (May 3 to 7) and one five-day parking pass.
