Conejo Players to host auditions for comedy

The Conejo Players will host auditions for a comedy by George Axelrod, "The Seven Year Itch," at 7:30 p.m. Sun. to Tues., April 16 to 18 (adult roles) and at 7:30 p.m. Wed., April 19 (child role), at 351 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

Appointments are not required, and the roles offer no pay for performers.

The play is slated for a summer run, from June 16 to July 15.

The play tells the story of Richard Sherman, a New York publishing executive who is tempted to stray after seven years of faithful marriage when his wife and son depart for a summer holiday out of town. Temptation arrives in the form of a beautiful and friendly young woman who is his new neighbor.

Additionally, auditions for the "tender and moving" drama "To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday" are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Mon. to Wed., April 24 to 26.

The show will be performed from June 24 to July 15 at 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays with a single evening performance at 7 p.m. July 9.

All roles are open for the play, which tells the story of a gathering of family and friends at a summer retreat at the beach, and a widower's coming to terms with the loss of his wife through the aid of her ghost.
