The Camarillo Acorn, a free weekly community newspaper, will begin delivery tomorrow to 25,000 homes and businesses in Camarillo. It becomes the fifth publication in The Acorn family of newspapers.

The Camarillo Acorn will join the Moorpark Acorn and the Simi Valley Acorn with a Friday distribution, while The Acorn and the Thousand Oaks Acorn will continue to be distributed on Thursday.

"We're excited to serve the Camarillo community," publisher James Rule said.

"The Camarillo Acorn will continue the Acorn Newspapers' tradition of local coverage that our readers and advertisers have come to depend on," he said.

Daniel Wolowicz, former staff writer for The Acorn and the Thousand Oaks Acorn, serves as the editor of the Camarillo Acorn.

"Camarillo is an amazing FROM PAGE 1 - community with a rich history and promising future," Wolowicz said. "I'm proud to now be a part of that future."

A Southern California native and a resident of Ventura County for the past five years, Wolowicz graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. While at LMU, he worked as editor-in-chief of the university's award-winning student newspaper. Wolowicz also has written for radio, magazine and television.

"I'm looking forward to building strong personal relationships with residents and local business owners in Camarillo," Wolowicz said. "My goal is to make the Camarillo Acorn a newspaper that truly reflects this wonderful community."

Wolowicz lives in Ventura with his wife, Gina, and their 18-month-old daughter, Marina.

The total circulation of The Acorn Newspapers-with the Camarillo edition-exceeds 135,000.
