Therapeutic horse program to host open house

Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., April 1 at 401 Ronel Court in Newbury Park to give the community an opportunity to learn more about the services they offer to children and adults with special needs.

Lunch will be served by the Newbury Park Rotary club between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.

Students with physical and mental disabilities will demonstrate their skills to the public with classes including equitation and relay races. The demonstrations will highlight the variety of programs that Ride On provides including therapeutic riding and hippotherapy- physical therapy on horseback.

The open house will also recognize the support of the community and the partnership with Conejo Recreation and Park District. There will be entertainment and fun activities for children, including a jolly jump, pony petting, face painting and horseshoe hunt.
