'The Celestine Prophecy' to be shown Two local faith centers will be offering a sneak preview of the film "The Celestine Prophecy" in April. Admission at either venue is $10. At 1 p.m. Sun., April 2 at the Country Inn, 23627 Calabasas Road, Calabasas, the Calabasas Center of Dynamic Living will show the movie and an optional discussion will follow. The movie is based on James Redfield's novel, and is described as a spiritual adventure surrounding the discovery of ancient scrolls in the rain forests of Peru. The prophecy and its nine key insights predict a universal awakening that will move humanity toward a deeper experience of spirituality. The film features an international ensemble cast, and was shot on location in St. Augustine and Ocala, Fla. and Costa Rica. For reservations, call Judi Baumbach at (818) 486-6720. The Westlake Church of Religious Science will be showing the movie on Fri., April 7 and Thurs., April 13 at 7:30 p.m. and at 1 p.m. Sun., April 9 at 880 Hampshire Road, Ste. W, Westlake Village. "This movie and its message offer a life-affirming truth we want to share with our membership and community," said Dr. Sue Rubin and Rev. Jim Lockard, pastors of the Westlake Church of Religious Science. For event information, call Linda Ruoho at (805) 495-0105, ext. 3. |
