Cypress gears up for bike rodeo

Cypress Elementary School will host a bike rodeo from 2:45 to 4:30 p.m. on Fri., March 31 at the school, 4200 Kimber Drive, Newbury Park. This is a free event for Cypress students in grades K to 5 and their families, featuring fun and safety.

The rodeo will include an obstacle course, bicycle safety check, helmet check and fit, a fire truck, refreshments and more. The Ventura Bike Patrol will be on hand to answer questions.

All students must be registered before participating in the rodeo.

Registration forms are available in the school office. In conjunction with the rodeo, the student body is encouraged to bring unused, old or broken bikes to the multipurpose room for donation to Missions with Bikes (MWB). Volunteers of MWB fix up used bikes and give them to needy children.
