Newbury Park softball team stymied by Camarillo's Dean
Panthers manage just one hit against Scorpions' ace
     Camarillo junior pitcher Lindsey Dean threw a complete game one-hitter Tuesday afternoon at Borchard Park as the Scorpions downed Newbury Park, 4-0, in the Panther softball team%27s regular-season opener.

     TOP TEAM-Tori Boden (Thousand Oaks High), Deanna Elias (Thousand Oaks High), Cathy Quilico (Westlake High) and Jesse Yeager (Oak Park High) play on Gene's Team, which placed first out of 160 teams in the 17-year-old age division at the Las Vegas Volleyball Invitational Tournament on President's Day weekend. The girls played in 10 matches (best two out of three games) and won the tournament with a match record of 10 wins, no losses, and a game record of 20 wins, two losses. Gene's Team is currently ranked No. 1 in the 17year-old division in Southern California. Pictured in the front row from left to right are Kendall Bird, Elias and head coach Gene Selznick. The Thunder rolls
     TOP SEED WINS IT ALL-The Thousand Oaks boys' U-10 All-Star B team, the Thunder, won the Riverside Locomotion Tournament, taking first place out of 15 teams. The Thunder secured its championship with a 5-0-1 record, maintaining their No. 1 seed going into the tournament. They outscored their opponents, 17-4, throughout the competition.
