Let's name some streets after Rosa Parks

Last month I received a letter from Ross C. Anderson, the mayor of Salt Lake City. In his letter he honored me for writing to him suggesting that Salt Lake honor the late Rosa Parks.

"As you said, it would be a fitting tribute to name a street for this courageous woman.

"Many people in the city share your desire to honor Rosa Parks. The city council approved adding the name Rosa Parks Boulevard to 200 East from South Temple to 600 South. The street is appropriate because there are 10 bus stops with the majority of them in the free fare zone.

"Thank you for taking the time to write and for your interest in honoring one of the great people of our time." Ross C. Anderson, mayor.

Shouldn't Thousand Oaks, Ventura or Oxnard join in the celebration of honoring the late Rosa Parks by naming a street in her name, preferably a street with a bus stop? Samuel M. Rosen Newbury Park
