T.O. teen earns Eagle Scout

Robert EvanRobert (Robby) Wayne Evans, 18, the son of Wayne and Meryl Evans of Thousand Oaks, received his Eagle Scout award in a court of honor ceremony on Feb. 27 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Thousand Oaks. Scoutmasters Lee Hess of Troop No. 718 and Neil Martin of Troop No. 10 presented the award.

Robby earned 37 merit badges, participated in more than 100 hours of community service, was assistant senior patrol leader in the troop, and is a member of the Order of the Arrow.

For his Eagle project, Robby led a crew of 23 Scouts and adults in a revegetation project at Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa in Newbury Park, a unit of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. The scouts spent 120 man-hours on the project.

A 2005 graduate of Westlake High School, Robby is currently enrolled at Moorpark College,

where he's taking classes for a degree in business.
