The following youth will be called to the Torah this month at Temple Etz Chaim, 1080 Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. Rabbi Richard Spiegel and Cantor Pablo Duek will officiate.

On Sat., March 4, Michael Avery, 13, will be called to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah. He is the son of Howard and Lori Avery of Westlake Village. Michael is currently a seventhgrader at Colina Middle School in Thousand Oaks and has been a member of the temple since the fourth grade.

On Sat., March 11, Rebecca Suslik, 13, the daughter of Maria and Alexander Suslik of Thousand Oaks, will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah. Rebecca is a seventh-grade honor student at Los Cerritos Middle School and has attended Temple Etz Chaim religious school since the third grade.

Both Michael and Rebecca will participate in Friday evening services in advance of their special ceremonies, and both plan to continue their Jewish studies.
