Chamber names 2006 Board of Directors

The Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce announced its 2006 board of directors, led by Chairman John Dokken, governmental and external affairs director for Verizon.

Dokken said that among his goals this year, he wants to increase membership and individual participation in Chamber activities.

Dokken began his career in 1978 with GTE, now Verizon, and since then has held several positions with the company, including public affairs administrator responsible for GTE’s Northern California region, and staff manager for the company’s governmental affairs department in Thousand Oaks.

Dokken is a graduate of San Diego State University and and has been a member of the Chamber board of directors since 1998.

The 2006 Chamber executive board also includes: Chair-Elect Ken Doyle, director of business development for Warner Pacific Insurance Services; Chair Emeritus Judi Irwin, Dilbeck Realtors; Secretary Robert Cabral, vice president and branch manager of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust; Treasurer Susan Murata, CFO of Silver Star Automotive Group; Director Peter Diaz, vice president of marketing for WellPoint; and President & CEO Janet Levett, Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce.

“I am excited to welcome John Dokken as our 2006 board chairman as we commence another productive year for the Chamber,” Levett said. “Dokken and the rest of our 2006 board represent the very best of the Conejo Valley business community.”

The Chamber’s new board will be introduced at the annual gala recognition dinner, “A Night on Broadway,” March 10th at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

The event will honor outgoing 2005 Chair Judi Irwin and other community supporters.
