Arts council offers grants

The Ventura County Arts Council has announced that the Arts-in-the-Classroom MiniGrant Program is offering grants to Ventura County public elementary schools through the support of the John and Beverly Stauffer Foundation and Target stores.

The guidelines and applications have been sent to county elementary school principals. The Ventura County Arts Council Artsin-the-Classroom Mini-Grant Program was established to provide support for public elementary schools to partner with local arts organizations and artists to bring standards-based arts into classrooms.

The third round of minigrants will be awarded this spring to be used during the 2006-07 school year. 

All programs must adhere to the guiding principles contained in the “Visual and Performing Arts Framework for California Public Schools, Kindergarten Through Grade Twelve.” All arts disciplines will be considered.
