Musical theater workshops to be offered for teens this summer
Youth ages 15 and older are invited to attend a new musical theatre workshop, “From Inspiration to Performance,” led by Tom Stuart, a Conejo Valley native and Broadway performer who got his start at Conejo Players Theatre and the Young Artists Ensemble, both based in Thousand Oaks.

Classes will meet from 6 to 10 p.m. Mondays, July 11 through Aug. 15, at the California Dance Theatre in Agoura Hills.

On Aug. 15 there will be a presentation for family and friends of participants.

Working with an accompanist, developing a character, and creating context for a song are among the topics1 that will be covered.

“As a performer it’s important to work on your material in a safe, imaginative and fun environment, and that’s what I hope to create,” Stuart said.
