Free vision consultations to be offered
Are the numbers on your watching becoming difficult to read? Free low-vision consultations will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fri., June 3 at the Goebel Senior Center, 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. The event is sponsored by the Braille Institute.

During one-hour private sessions, a low-vision rehabilitation specialist will assess visual skills, offer techniques to make the most of existing vision, determine what low-vision devices are needed and make recommendations. Consultants will also offer demonstrations of operating devices that enlarge printed material, such as lighted magnifiers and closed-circuit televisions.

For more information or to schedule an appointment for a free consultation, please call (805) 6826222.

Braille Institute is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to eliminate blindness and severe sight loss as a barrier to a fulfilling life. Thanks to generous donations, Braille Institute services are available free of charge.
