Jewish life to be celebrated in T.O
Singer, actor and raconteur Theodore Bikel will headline “Tradition:

A Celebration of Jewish Life” at 7:45 p.m.

Wed., June 15 in the Kavli Theater at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd. Ticket prices range from $18 through $108.

A Patron’s Gala Reception in support of the educational and social service programs of Chabad of the Conejo will precede the show.

Organizers of the event are anticipating a sold-out show, coming just weeks after Bikel received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The concert will showcase his versatility as an inspirational folk singer and show-stopping entertainer.

Bikel made his concert debut at the Carnegie Recital Hall in 1956 and has performed in countless folk music concerts throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. He has also performed extensively in Israel, New Zealand and Australia, and he’s recorded 27 albums in 21 languages.

As a character actor, Bikel has appeared in 35 films including “The African Queen,” “My Fair Lady” and “The Defiant Ones,” for which he was nominated for an Academy Award. He has appeared in many TV shows.

“The audience will be regaled with a diversity of music, nostalgia, pride and entertainment,” said event coordinator Moshe Bryski.

“More than a concert featuring an entertainment legend, this evening is going to be a lively and spirited Jewish experience.” The concert is hosted by Chabad of the Conejo and co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation/Valley Alliance, the Israel Ministry of Tourism, Jewish Family Services, The JCC Centers of Conejo and West Valley, and the Jewish Federation of Ventura County.
