Five to serve on WIB board of directors
The Workforce Investment Board of Ventura County (WIB) recently welcomed John La Rocca, Janice Stack, Linda Denver, Ernestine Lopez and Bernardo Perez as the newest board members.

“These new board members have years of professional experience and community dedication that will be a great asset to the WIB,” said J. Thomas Van Berkem, chair of the WIB.

La Rocca and Stack were appointed by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors to represent the private sector.

La Rocca was nominated by the Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village Chamber of Commerce and is the director of business development for U.S. Telesis.

Stack was nominated by the Ventura County Economic Development Association and represents Pentair Pool Products in Moorpark. She brings 25 years of experience in the field of human resources.

Denver represents the Employment Development Department, where she has 33 years of experience in the job services and unemployment insurance divisions.

Lopez, executive director of the Candelaria American Indian council, will represent the Indian and Native American programs offered through funds from the Workforce Investment Act (WIA).

Perez is the executive committee member from the Commission on Human Concerns, a community-based organization and One-Stop partner. Perez is currently employed by the Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation.

Denver, Lopez and Perez filled seats mandated by the WIA for partners in the OneStop System, which provides employment services through job and career centers countywide.
