Procedure that city council used to replace Masry was fair, complete

2005-12-22 / Letters

As one of the applicants for the city council seat that was vacated, I, too, would like to have seen the city of Thousand Oaks hold a special election.

But on the other hand, $250,000 is a lot for one seat.

I wasn't sure how the process was going to go because the information packet was very vague.

Mayor Claudia Bill-de la Pea made the suggestion that all 34 applicants be heard. The other council members finally agreed.

Even though I didn't get chosen for the city council seat, I feel that the process was fair and complete.

I hope that everyone who wished to have a special election, including myself, would accept the decision of our city council and support them.

I look forward to the next city council election.
