Procedure that city council used to replace Masry was fair, complete As one of the applicants for the city council seat that was vacated, I, too, would like to have seen the city of Thousand Oaks hold a special election. But on the other hand, $250,000 is a lot for one seat. I wasn't sure how the process was going to go because the information packet was very vague. Mayor Claudia Bill-de la Pea made the suggestion that all 34 applicants be heard. The other council members finally agreed. Even though I didn't get chosen for the city council seat, I feel that the process was fair and complete. I hope that everyone who wished to have a special election, including myself, would accept the decision of our city council and support them. I look forward to the next city council election.
