Fred Stone, recognized as one of the world’s foremost painters of horses, will be the guest artist at the Tues., Jan. 3 meeting of the Westlake Village Art Guild (WVAG) at the Los Robles Banquet Center, 299 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

Registration is at 6 p.m. The dinner meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by the art demonstration at 7:30 p.m.

According to WVAG, more people own a print by Fred Stone than by any other horse artist in history. His work hangs in the homes and offices of many notable people, including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the office of President George W. Bush in the White House, and at major race tracks, hotels and casinos throughout the world. Longchamp Paris, the world’s largest equine mural, hangs in the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.

Stone’s poster titled “Partners,” which depicts a fireman and his search dog, has raised more than $500,000 for the ASPCA and the families of the firemen who died in the Sept. 11 tragedy.

Dinner and the demonstration is $25 for members and $28 for guests. To attend the demonstration only is $7 and $10. Dinner reservations are on a space-available basis. Call (805) 379-5655 or e-mail wlvag@hotmail.com
