The National Charity League Inc. San Fernando Valley Chapter celebrated two special events this year, the chapter’s 50th anniversary and the organization’s 40th annual Charity Ball.

On Nov. 26, the chapter hosted the charity ball, “A Celebration of Commitment,” at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The ball honored 11 young women representing communities throughout the San Fernando Valley and Conejo Valley for their philanthropic commitment to the community.

This year’s debutantes, along with their fellow members, volunteered nearly 4,000 hours at the philanthropies supported by the chapter: American Cancer So-ciety’s Discovery Shops, Guide Dogs of America, Motion Picture Television Hospital, West Valley Food Pantry, Operation Gratitude and ONEgeneration.

The ball, which typically raises more than $40,000, donates the net proceeds to the league’s supported philanthropies.

The 2005 Debutantes are Melissa Lauren Anderson of Bell Canyon, Heather Michelle Crane of Van Nuys, Erica Tabsh Embree of Northridge, Tanya Marie Knezevich of West Hills, Briana Michelle Lehman of Thousand Oaks, Camille Rose Reinecker of Calabasas, Meagan Marie Sheff-Atteberry of Calabasas, Amber Elizabeth Shevin of Calabasas, Natasha Karena Srour of Beverly Hills, Lauren Kate Williamson of Tarzana and Katherine Elizabeth Wolf of Calabasas.
