Air Force Airman Joshua Fields has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas and earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Fields is the son of Philip Fields of Thousand Oaks and a 2000 graduate of Westlake High School.

Navy Seaman Nathan D. White was recently promoted to his current rank upon graduation from Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. White is a 1998 graduate of Thousand Oaks High School and the son of Linda and Greg White of Thousand Oaks.

Army Maj. Joel W. Hendrickson, a supply and services officer with 11 years of military service, has arrived for duty at Camp Taji, Iraq. He is the son of Wayne Hendrickson of Thousand Oaks.

Air Force Airman Ryan J. Unger has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas and earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Unger is the son of Hope Ryf of Thousand Oaks and a 2002 graduate of Conejo Valley High School.

Marine Corps Pvt. Anthony C. Melia, the son of Vick and Michael Melia of Thousand Oaks, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego.
