Hyatt Westlake Plaza, at the corner of Westlake Boulevard and Townsgate Road in Thousand Oaks, hopes to significantly expand and renovate its facilities. Management is seeking approval from the city of Thousand Oaks for the project, which would include 68 additonal guest roomsbringing the total number to 332a new ballroom and parking structure; and remodeling of the health club.

The project would add over 146,000 square feet to the existing 189,000 square feet. Hoteproperty encompasses 10.7 acresThe work would encroach into the protected zone of four oak trees and force the removal of 15 landmark trees, according to an initial report published by the city.

The project will come before the planning commission sometime early next year.
