St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School announced recently it was awarded a $150,000 grant from the Los Angeles-based Weingart Foundation to help pay for the construction of its new Canterbury Hall school building.

The 10,000-square-foot, twostory Canterbury Hall opened for classes this year, replacing a 40year-old facility. The grant award is part of a multifaceted fundraising effort that’s helped the school to build the $2.3-million facility.

“The generosity of the Weingart foundation has energized our community and made a tremendous impact on our ability to open this new facility,” said Pat Morris, chair of the school’s board of trustees. “Our mission here is to provide a caring Christian environment for students, and this beautiful new facility will help us to expand that mission throughout the entire Conejo Valley,” Morris said.

St. Patrick’s Episcopal School is a K-6 elementary school serving the Conejo Valley. It’s an outreach of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Thousand Oaks.
