The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation presents “Little Bear and the Enchanted Wood” at 7 p.m. Thurs., Jan. 19 in the Fred Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza’s Countrywide Performing Arts Center, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Maurice Sendak’s Little Bear is a gentle, curious and inventive character that has captivated the imaginations of children the world over for more than a halfcentury.

In this musical production, Little Bear and his friends Duck, Owl, Cat and Emily—on their way to the friendly forest for a fun adventure—run into a small problem and end up in the spooky enchanted wood Little Bear’s mom warned them about.

Written from a child’s point of view, the series celebrates the playful and sometimes enchanted aspects of the everyday activities and important moments in a preschooler’s life.

The show is appropriate for preschoolers through third-graders.

Tickets ranging from $16 to $26 are available by calling the Civic Arts Plaza box office at (805) 449-2787.
