How to increase a child’s desire to read

Jim Trelease, an education speaker and author of “The Read Aloud Handbook,” will discuss “Growing a Reader: Sowing the Seeds for Reading Success” in the next Conejo Valley Adult School “Parent Talk” lecture from 7 to 9 p.m. Tues., Jan. 10 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1600 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

Trelease will not discuss teaching a child how to read, but rather teaching them to want to read.
