Free holiday dinner offered to needy

Group says that nobody should be hungry or alone on Christmas

Conejo Community Dinners, Inc. a nonprofit organization of caring community members, is hosting its 11th annual holiday dinner from noon to 4 p.m. on Christmas Day, Sun., Dec. 25 at Thousand Oaks High School, 2323 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

No reservations are required and parking is free.

Everyone is invited who would like to share a meal with others at this special time of year.

Donn Delson, organization founder, said, ”We are opening the doors to anyone in the Conejo Valley who would like to have a delicious holiday dinner, and enjoy spending time with old friends and meeting new ones.

“No matter what one’s heritage, age, financial status or affiliation, this is the time of year for us as a community and as individuals to come together and enjoy this festive season together,” Delson said.

About 400 guests are expected to attend the event, which will also feature light entertainment. The menu includes traditional holiday fare such as roast turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad, rolls, beverages and special desserts.
