The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura will present a free “Frankly Speaking About Cancer” educational workshop for people with cancer and their loved ones from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. tonight, Thurs., Dec. 8, at 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village.

The event is sponsored by Amgen and will feature professional cyclist and 10-time Tour de France veteran George Hincapie; Dr. Steven Wong, an oncologist from UCLA Oncology Center; and Dr. Anna Schwartz, an internationally known oncology researcher.

The workshop will teach attendees how to take control of side effects of treatment through medicine, mind and body.

“Frankly Speaking About Cancer” is the core educational component of “Breakaway from Cancer,” a national education program that will raise awareness and funds to support Wellness Community services. To reserve a seat, please call (805) 379-4777.
