Learning about bread, sharing gratitude
BILL SPARKES/Acorn Newspapers ROLLING -IN-DOUGH TRADITION—From left to right, Selena Zarate, 10, teacher Eileen Fischer and Gabrielle Moss, 10, of University Elementary School demonstrate their bread-making skills. Fischer has been teaching special education students how to make bread the week before Thanksgiving for 14 years. Each student makes three loaves––one to take home with a note of thanks to their parents, one for a staff member they appreciate and one for themselves. |
