Master Chorale will perform Christmas concert at Moorpark College

The Los Robles Master Chorale will perform a selection of familiar European and American Christmas carols in their Christmas concert titled “A Christmas Tapestry.” Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. Sat., Dec. 3 and 3 p.m. Sun., Dec. 4 at the Moorpark College Performing Arts Center, 7075 Campus Road, Moorpark.

Among the works to be performed are Benjamin Britten’s “Ceremony of Carols,” sung by the combined women of the Master Chorale and the Los Robles Children’s Choir.

The chorale will perform traditional Christmas music from Germany, France, England, Spain and Mexico mingled with festive American carols.

Additional program highlights include Morten Lauridisen’s “Oh Magnum Mysterium” and Franz Biebl’s “Ave Maria.”

The concerts will include piano, harp, cello, bass and percussion accompaniment.

James Stemen is the chorale’s artistic director. Donna Young serves in that capacity for the children’s choir.

Ticket prices are $18 for adults, $12 for students and seniors and $6 for children.
