Children in the Conejo Valley are rallying to support our troops to bring extra cheer during the holiday season by writing letters and sending specially filled holiday stockings (care packages), thanks to the efforts of Pinecrest Schools’ Thousand Oaks third grade class and Coldwell Banker, Westlake Village Promenade.

Spearheaded by thirdgrade student Taylor Lyle, Taylor and her real estate agent dad, Mark Andrew Lyle, brought the idea to Taylor’s teacher, Mr. Childer, who was quick to embrace the idea. Joining “Mr.C’s” class in this heartwarming endeavor will be two other third grade classes at Pinecrest.

Taylor said, “My grandfather was in WWII, my uncle was in the Army, and my daddy was a pilot in the Navy. Last year my mom and I did something like this and I knew it would be a good idea to ask my class to help out, too.”
