Young Artists Ensemble to present ‘The Sound of Music’

The Young Artists Ensemble will present “The Sound of Music,” the premiere production in their 25th Family Theatre Series, from Fri., Nov. 4 through Sun., Nov. 20 in the Theatre on the Hill at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m. and Sundays at 12:30 and 3:30 p.m.

This family musical contains such songs as “Do-Re-Mi,” “My Favorite Things,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” and many other popular tunes.

Based on the autobiography of postulant turned performer, Maria Von Trapp, the musical focuses on the former nun Maria as she leaves the convent in order to look after the seven children of a wealthy naval captain. As the Captain and Maria begin to fall in love, the Third Reich comes to power in their homeland, forcing the Von Trapp family to make a decision that will forever alter their lives.
