Don’t forget Katrina victims on Thanksgiving

White meat or dark meat? A leg or a thigh? Some gravy on those potatoes? What a multitude of choices we have.

In our gratitude for abundant blessings, let us continue to support our Katrina brothers and sisters. Their choices might be a tad more difficult. Should I buy the needed medicine or use the money for gas to find a job?

Thanksgiving would be a perfect opportunity to remember the families that are still struggling to recover from the effects of Hurricane Katrina.

Can you connect with one? The Conejo Compassion Coalition is appealing to all groups that are planning a Thanksgiving observation to include, as part of that celebration, prayers and donations to benefit hurricane victims.

The “start over” struggles for Katrina victims will last long past this holiday season, but our planned efforts and generosity will make a heartfelt difference in their journey. We can be the spark that keeps the “giving” going in our caring group of people. So let’s speak up, plan and make it a “giving” Thanksgiving. Sherrill Hyink Thousand Oaks
