Thunderbirds to perform

The musician known as Kid Ramos, who helped to revitalize the band the Fabulous Thunderbirds, will perform a Swing Blues Concert at 8 p.m. Sat., Nov. 5 at Serra Center, 211 E. Main St., Ventura (behind the San Buenaventura Mission). He is described by Ann WillardBevans of the Ventura Music Festival, the concert’s sponsor, as “a muscular, pompadoured, Elvisera-looking guitar hero, a man of the ’90s who looks and plays like a kid from the ’50s, and will be appearing with a few of his good friends.”

His appearance is part of the Ventura AuthentiCity Weekend and is geared to fans of ’50s blues, rhythm and blues, and soul. Tickets are $37 and available by calling (805) 648-3146.
