Local artists to support Many Mansions project

2005-10-27 / On The Town

Local artists from Clay Studio, Cal State Channel Islands, and Moorpark College have donated more than 300 hand-made ceramic bowls to the inaugural Many Mansions Bowls of Hope Project, a benefit scheduled for Sun., Nov. 6 at Calamigos Ranch, Malibu. Many Mansions is a Thousand Oaks-based nonprofit affordable housing and service provider operating in Ventura County and surrounding areas.

Several community leaders have volunteered to participate as servers at the event including Mark Rutherford, Mayor of Westlake Village; Bruce Rothwell, president of Corporate Images; Rick Lemmo of Caruso Affiliated; Aris Koroyan, president of Sudzz Fx; Bob Fraisee, Superintendent of the Conejo Valley Unified School District; Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks and others.

After a bowl is chosen, each guest will proceed to a “soup line” where local community leaders, celebrities, Many Mansions board members, sponsors and supporters will serve them gourmet soups and breads donated by local restaurants.

After their meal, guests may browse art in the gallery, listen to live entertainment, or bid on silent auction items in the Merchant Market.

Please call for event time and directions. Early ticket purchase is suggested. Tickets are $25 and all proceeds will benefit Many Mansions’ Adult Services Program. Guests may take home their ceramic bowls as keepsakes. To purchase tickets or for more information call Vanessa Berlinsky at (805) 496-4948, ext. 36.
