Women’s club to donate to hurricane victims

The Westlake Women’s Club is donating $1,000 to help victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The funds are being designated for victims who are also members of the General Federated Women’s Clubs located in the gulf region who were affected by the disasters.

“The members of the Westlake Women’s Club wanted to give to the hurricane relief effort,” said Cate Brown, club president, “and we wanted to determine that 100 percent of what we donated would be received by those who need it most. Our national organization, General Federated Women’s Clubs, will identify federated women’s club members and their families in the stricken areas and funnel our club’s entire donation directly to those individuals.”
