Realty office to sponsor holiday stockings for troops

Prudential California Realty Merrill Lynch invites the community to help convey a sense of holiday cheer to service personnel in Iraq by filling a holiday stocking no larger than 17 to 20 inches from top to heel with some of the items listed below, attaching $7.70 for shipping, then dropping off the stocking at one of the following Prudential locations in Westlake Village by Fri., Nov. 11: 1155 Lindero Canyon Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or 2815 Townsgate Road, Ste. 300 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All items must be small or travel size, new and unopened. All items must be in the stockings or a large Ziploc bag and must be able to fit in an 11 7/8" by 3 3/8" by 13 5/8" box that Prudential will provide.

The $7.70 shipping fee needs to be with the stocking to cover the USPS costs. The shipping fee may be in cash or in check form made payable to Denise Snavely. The stockings will be shipped to Maj. Douglas Etter, chaplain with the 28th Infantry in the Sunni Triangle in Iraq in time for the holidays.

Stocking suggestions: candy, eye drops, scented body lotion/ sprays, lip balm, vitamins, beef jerky, easy-open canned meats/ fruit/tuna, power bars/microwave popcorn, snack foods, peanut butter crackers, rodent and insect traps, lightweight green socks, Advil, Neosporin, ground coffee, small portable games, stationery, hunter-type heat packs, peanut butter, duct tape, large Ziploc bags, hair care products, pens, paperback books, toothbrushes and toothpaste, foot powder, hand lotion, batteries size AA and AAA, seasonings and sauces, hand sanitizer/face wipes, black or brown bootlaces, nail clippers, Kool Aid/Tang/ Crystal Light, phone cards, tissue packs/sponges, playing cards/dice and music CDs.
