Masry attends council meeting

A frail Ed Masry returned to the Thousand Oaks City Council on Tuesday night in time to vote on several issues.

Upon being brought to the dais in a wheelchair, Masry announced that he’d hadn’t lost only part of his right leg to amputation, but part of his left leg also.

The councilmember has undergone several surgeries since March in his battle against diabetes. The last council meeting he’d attended was on Sept. 13.

“I want everyone to know that I watched everything on television,” said Masry, referring to taped telecasts of council meetings he had missed. “All in all, I am feeling fine and am back at work.”

Masry spent about two hours at the meeting, asking to be excused around 9 p.m.
