Walk to benefit Heart Association

The 3-mile Ventura County Heart Walk will include free health screenings, entertainment

Hundreds of residents will literally take steps to improve lives when they participate in the 11th annual Ventura County Heart Walk at 8 a.m. Sat., Oct. 1 at the Westlake Village Civic Center.

The noncompetitive, threemile walk will raise funds to support research in heart disease and stroke, as well as local educational programs.

The event will include free health screenings, booths from community sponsors, live entertainment, Kid’s Zone and VIP lounge. Participants who are heart disease or stroke survivors will wear red caps that read “Fighting Back.”

This year’s fundraising goal is $120,000 and volunteer opportunities are still available.

For more information, to volunteer or to make a donation, please call the Ventura County American Heart Association at (805) 445-7050 or visit www.vcheartwalk.org.
