Thousand Oaks resident crowned Miss Ventura County

Emily Warmann was crowned the new Miss Ventura County 2005 at a private ceremony earlier this month. Emily graciously stepped up to complete this year’s Miss Ventura County duties after the position was left vacant when the former 2005 title holder was disqualified.

Emily is the daughter of Mark and Alison Warmann of Thousand Oaks. She works in Ojai as the office manager of Tell The Truth Pictures, an Academy Awardwinning and Emmy Award-winning documentary film company. She graduated in May 2004 with a BA in music from California Lutheran University. While attending CLU, Emily was an active member of the university symphony, wind ensemble and band council and directed the CLU pep band for two seasons.

In addition, Emily served as a presidential host and an international peer mentor, and she’s a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society. She hopes to return to CLU to earn her MBA and become a music supervisor or producer. Emily is organizing a fundraising event to benefit the Lighthouse Home for abused women, a division of the Ventura County Rescue Mission.

The 2006 competition is scheduled for Nov. 12 at the Moorpark High School Performing Arts Center.
