Romanian dancers will perform
INTER-ART, a dance company from Bucharest, Romania, will present a benefit for Romanian children with hemophilia at 8 p.m. Wed., Oct. 5 at the Theater on High Street, 45 E. High St., Moorpark.
INTER-ART uses traditional ethnic instruments in a mixed-media show that’s played in New York and Los Angeles.
The event is co-sponsored by the Rotary Club of Newbury Park and Moorpark Rotary Club. Chair of the organizing committee is Adriana Henderson, director of STAR Children Relief, which has brought clothing, medicines, medical equipment and toys to Romania over the past five years and has renovated a school in a remote mountain village.
The proceeds from this event will go toward a summer seaside camp for Romanian children with hemophilia and their families.
“Our community has a record of supporting Rotary Club activities such as the upcoming Oktoberfest,” said Henderson. “We hope that people will take an hour to come to a show that will have such an impact on the lives of these disadvantaged children in Romania.”
The public is invited after the show to meet the cast and members of the supporting organizations.
Tickets are $25 and are taxdeductible. For more information on the performance and reservations, please call (805) 529-3786. For more information on STAR, visit www.starchildrenrelief.org.
