Bella Vita Club supports the Wellness Community

Bella Vita Social Club selected the Wellness Community as the benefactor of this year’s fundraiser for the assistance the organization provides those facing cancer in the community.

The 120-member club was formed more than 50 years ago for women and men of mostly Italian descent.

“We have great respect for the work that the Wellness Community does locally,” said Chik Smaldino, ways and means chair of Bella Vita.

A fundraiser last month included a luncheon and card party where attendees played games to raise money for the organization.

“We are honored to receive such a generous donation from an organization that has benefited the community for several decades,” said Suzanne Drace, president of The Wellness Community Valley/ Ventura.

The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura is the local chapter of the international, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free support, education and hope to people affected by cancer.

Through participation in professionally led support groups, educational workshops, nutrition and exercise programs, and mind/body classes, people affected by cancer learn vital skills that enable them to regain control, reduce isolation and restore hope regardless of the stage of their disease.
