Many residents will have a three-day weekend as schools, banks and government offices will be closed Mon., Sept. 5 in observance of Labor Day. There will be no delivery of mail. Trash collection companies will be working one day late next week.

Acorn offices will also be closed. Deadlines for the issues of Sept. 8 and 9 advance by 24 hours.

The deadline for real estate ads is noon today. Letters to the editor and other editorial items must also be received by noon Thurs., Sept. 1. Display ads for the issues of Sept. 8 and 9 must be reserved by noon Fri., Sept. 2.
