Police to beef up patrols at schools starting today
2005-09-01 / Community
Law enforcement agencies are urging caution for all motorists in school zones. Classes reopened today at many schools. More squad cars will be patrolling campuses and streets commonly traveled by children.
Specifically, peace officers will be looking for speeders, double parking, incomplete stops, honking, seat belt noncompliance and incorrect use of child safety seats.
Patrol officers have been instructed to write tickets for motorists who disobey traffic laws in school zones.
