Military families to be saluted

Assemblywoman Audra Strickland (R-Thousand Oaks) and the Hogan Family Foundation will host “Military Family Appreciation Day,” in recognition of the sacrifice and commitment of local military families, from 3 to 5 p.m. Sat., Sept. 10 at Gardens of the World, 2001 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. The public is encouraged to attend and show support for the troops.

The event will include booths from military support organizations, including Blue Star Mothers of Ventura County, Family Fleet Support Center, Operation Gratitude, Operation Homefront, and Pen Pals for Soldiers.
