The Thousand Oaks Police Department is offering a “Parent Project” program designed to help parents when traditional parenting skills are not successful.

The 10-week program is directed at teaching proven strategies for parents who may be dealing with their children’s/teen’s behavior problems and/or falling grades, drug/alcohol use, runaways or gang involvement, and school attendance/performance.

The program is offered from 7 to 10 p.m. Mondays beginning Sept. 12 at the Thousand Oaks Police Department, 2101 E. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks. (The first six classes will conclude at 10 p.m.; the last four at 9 p.m.) The only fee for the course is the price of the parent workbook.

Early registration is suggested and may be made by calling Senior Dep. Lee Morris at (805) 371-8362.
