Youths participate in leadership conference

The following local students were among the 250 students selected from more than 1,200 applicants to attend Pepperdine University’s annual Youth Citizenship Seminar (YCS) held recently on the Malibu campus:

Oak Park: Brooke Cowgill of Oak Park High School and Jennifer Nunez of La Reina High School.

Thousand Oaks: Michelle Gorback and Adam Potischman, both Thousand Oaks High School students.

As participants in the seminar, founded by Pepperdine University Chancellor Charles Runnels, the students heard from inspirational speakers, attended interactive workshops and had the opportunity for one-on-one communication with internationally recognized leaders in a wide variety of fields.
