Mormon choir to give free concert

The Southern California Mormon Choir will perform in a free concert at 7 p.m. Sat., July 23 presented by the Thousand Oaks Stake at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Thousand Oaks Stake Center, 1600 Erbes Road, Thousand Oaks. The concert is open to the community.

The choir is a 120-voice choral ensemble organized under the auspices of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Since its formation in 1953, the choir has been performing concerts of classical, sacred, folk, patriotic and popular choral music throughout the Southern California area.

Choir director J. Frank Turner is a Newbury Park resident. He also teaches music at Santa Monica City College.
