Stop the sound wall until the birds are gone

Summer is here and the Peregrine falcons are back, just like clockwork. The pair returns every year about this time and they choose the mature trees behind the proposed Sport Chalet project. Under the California Department of Fish and Game, the American Peregrine falcons are fully protected under state and federal laws.

It would be a shame if they begin the proposed Equestrian Drive sound wall, which will be directly under these trees. The construction and commotion will disturb these beautiful and majestic birds.

Neighbors have stated they will inform state and federal agencies to do all they can to protect the birds’ summer habitat.

Neighbors also feel the project should be put on hold until the birds fly away like they always do come autumn.

Hopefully our city and developer will take heart and respect our wildlife here in our beautiful city of Thousand Oaks. Nancy Trier Thousand Oaks
