Is our city moving in the right direction?

A look at our city map will reveal there is a missing section that had until now always showed our city council’s goals for the coming year.

Have we forgotten about the people along Lynn Road in their daily traffic jams, Mt. Cleff Ridge in Wildwood that is threatened with even more development, our overcrowded schools? How about the youth that have only one skate park or the land around Two Winds Ranch which possibly will be developed?

We need direction and goals.

I also find the city wastes too much of our money forming small committees that spend months only to discover what the people of the community have known for years. Why form a committee for an issue when you already know the public’s views?

For example, in the late ’90s the city spent $2 million to see if building a golf course next to Wildwood Park would be a good idea. Not surprisingly, there was an enormous protest against the project.

You have to ask yourselves one question: Is this the best we can do? Clint Matkovich Thousand Oaks
