Youth sports nominations get July 15 deadline

Conejo/Las Virgenes Future Foundation invites nominations for its new Youth Sports award. The nomination deadline is Fri., July 15.

Finalists will be notified in September and will be guests at the dinner and awards program on Sat., Nov. 19 at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, where the award recipient will be announced.

Nominees must either reside or work in the Conejo Valley or Las Virgenes areas and should be individuals or groups who’ve made significant contributions to local youth through sports-related activities.

Nominees may include longtime coaches, persons who organize drives to construct new fields or facilities, individuals who help manage youth sports organizations, individuals who find innovative ways to promote teamwork and sportsmanship or those involved in ways not mentioned.

Nomination forms can be downloaded from the website www.clvff.org.

The Conejo/Las Virgenes Future Foundation awards recognize individuals and organizations who have made a positive impact on the community through extraordinary service, volunteerism, monetary donations and/or significant achievements.

Awards will be presented in eight categories: the arts, business/professional, community service, education, government/ public service, healthcare, public safety and youth sports.
