Duck Race generates $60,000 for Many Mansions More than $60,000 was recently raised at the seventh annual Great Conejo Duck Race to support Many Mansions. More than 1,000 people participated and nearly 8,000 ducks were adopted. Duck Race winners include the city of Thousand Oaks, which won the Great City Race and claimed Quacky’s Cup. The Fantastically Fast and Dangerously Determined Ducks team won first place in the preliminary races. Jan Small of Thousand Oaks won the main race and $5,000 grand prize. Small is a member of Thousand Oaks Rotary. Several organizations presented donations, including $10,000 from Wells Fargo, $15,000 from Verizon and $10,000 from a previous benefit concert by local band Bluez Boyz. “Many Mansions is extremely fortunate to have the support of our community,” said Nichole Lanse, director of resource development. “Funds raised from the race will help us to expand our affordable housing and life service programs to include hundreds more families in need.” Many Mansions is a local nonprofit affordable housing and service provider.
